Country music to be featured at state fair April 19, 2006 HURON, S.D. - Grandstand entertainment at the South Dakota State Fair this summer will have a definite country flavor. The lineup includes SHeDAISY and Phil Vassar on Sept. 1, Diamond Rio and Collin Raye on Sept. 2, and Country Gold on Sept. 3 featuring Leroy Van Dyke, Jim Ed Brown, Helen Cornelius, Moe Bandy, and Rex Allen Jr. "What we have done in past years is we have different types of shows, the rock bands, the '70s shows," said Susan Hayward, the fair manager. "We've gone back over five to six years and looked to see what has done the best, and it has always been classic country." Championship bull riding and auto racing complete the grandstand entertainment during the Aug. 31-Sept. 4 fair.
